Welcome to my blog where I talk about how to best care for you garden and potted plants. I will write about all aspects of gardening ranging from how to best take care of your lawn to how to grow your own vegetables. All my advice is designed to help you create a garden that is beautiful, easy to care for and that produces food for you and your family. Many vegetables such as carrots, cucumber and tomatoes are very easy to grow. Even a small garden can be enough to produce a large part of the food that you and your family needs. As little as 5000 square feet can be enough to provide all the food you and your family needs. Not having to pay for food can make wonders for your personal finances and can help you if you want to be able to get out of debt or save money for something you want. You can still choose to complement your diet with store bought meat but your food bill will still be a lot lower than it would be if you bought all your groceries..
I believe that a garden should be giving you pleasure not work. With this in mind I promote every time saving trick in the book to automate as much of the garden care as possible. The garden should as far as possible maintain itself even if I am not home. To achieve this I use both high tech solutions such as automatic watering systems, automatic misters and robomowers as well as low tech solutions such as how plants are combined and the use of micro climates to allow the plants to drive. Micro climates are especially important when you deal with sensitive plants and when germinating seeds. By maintained a good micro climate you can greatly improve germination. Another example of using micro climates is that I prefer to use a shade tree to shield plants that wants a shaded position instead of a shade cloth. I use ponds to increase air moisture instead of other artificial solutions and so on. You can see more information about my projects in my Swedish trädgårdsblog. All content on my Swedish site will in time be translated and posted on this site. I try to translate a little bit more whenever i can. Although sometimes i prefer to write completely new articles instead.
